Sardinia 24/9

Personal Diary

Sometimes it's nice to have a vacation with nothing to do and no rush. Naturally with my passion for photography and curiosity, I prefer exploring places with a plan in mind for many activities and places, but this trip was one of those calm, relaxed stays.

01

Big Waves

A week after I arrived, the temperature dropped overnight from 35 to 20 degrees celcius, causing many birds to leave early. The sea was rough and inaccessible for week, turning the beach into a performance stage for surfers who appeared.

The surfers suddently popped up from nowhere, and it was interesting to watch.

Life on the Sea

Our days usually have started with a little drive to the beach.

During our vacation, we took it slow. I’d wake up early and work on Present Imperfect for an hour or two.

Once Natalie woke up, we headed to the beach.

The 20km beach was quite empty. While it was 29 degrees in the air and 25 degrees in the water.

Occasionnaly, I enjoyed a run on the beach, especially when it's quite empty.

02

Costa Paradiso

One of my favorite beaches. Swimming there feels like flying over the rocks, with plenty of little fish around. Though it's not a secret, it’s never too crowded.

To arrive at this beach, you'll need to do a little 10-15 minutes walk, through the hilly landscape.

The Shelf

A long dream, came into reality through this visit. Few years in thinking, and few months in making, we finally have a bookshelf at our home there now.

I am not have a better picture now, but will update the one here on the next visit.

We started with finding the right shop, picking the wood. It was then cutted and glued together into proper size.

Picking up the wood

The next step, was to process the wood. We found a bee wachs oil, which is completely natural, and has nice smell, and process the wood with it.

This summer, we transported the frame, carefully handled by Daniel. The process took time, especially as doing it in a foreign country and language was a challenge.
