Medieval Town
Sea & Sardinia

Castelsardo is a picturesque medieval town. Founded in 1102 by the Doria family from Genoa, Castelsardo boasts a well-preserved castle, which now is a museum.

The town's narrow, winding streets are lined with colourful houses and offer a glimpse into its rich past.

When you up, the views on surrounding landscapes are stunning.

Castle

The castle, with a little entry fee, houses a museum showcasing Castelsardo's traditional weaving. The true highlight, however, is the panoramic view.

Views from the Castle

On the way

There's a bar with a view you'll come across. I haven't had the chance to visit, but the view from there seems absolutely spectacular.

There is a café at the top with a beautiful view.
I've never been there, but it looks nice.

Elephant Rock, shaped by wind and erosion over centuries

Inside there are ancient "houses of the fairies," which are pre-Nuragic tombs carved into the rock, adding an intriguing layer of history to this natural landmark.

The View on Castelsardo from La Ciaccia

The village is not particularly remarkable. What I find captivating, though, is viewing it from a distance. Each time I take an evening hike along the coast, I enjoy seeing the silluhete of it, and the sunset behind.
