Sicily 23

Work Trip

In December 2023, for my beloved project of Present Imperfect, I wanted to meet with a famous photographer whom I met on Instagram. As they been travelling Europe, I thought it might be a nice opportunity to show the product in person.

Palermo

My AirBnb, in spacious courtyard.

A perfect place to park the car

In bustling Palermo, Peace of mind.

To explore the city, worries left behind.

Strolled at Sunset. Soft and slow.

Winter here, unlike Berlin’s gray.

Palermo is special. Textures and character. Beautiful souls.

Market

I brought my Canon AE1, heavy and less comfortable to use, but that’s when I learn most. I never know how the shots will turn out, but I love the look, feel, and surprise when getting the final scans.

I often drove in Italy with ease, but arriving in Palermo was a whole new experience. If you've been there, you know exactly what I mean ;-)

Cefalù

After a day’s work in Palermo,
I drove to Cefalù through hills in the dark.
At sunrise, I woke to a stunning view.
For forty euros, nothing more perfect could be true.

Agrigentu & Temples

Akragas is located in ancient Greece.

The monuments of the past transport the mind and imagination to a different era.

It might have been less technology back then, but no less wisdom.

In Italy, beauty unfolds in every texture and structure.

It's the imperfections that breathe life and character.

Gangi

Before my trip to Sicily, I shared my itinerary with a friend from there. Their response was straightforward: Why Gangi? (from all the places)

Gangi is a little town.

Offering a stunning view from afar.

Its narrow, stony streets were deserted at this

time of year, adding to its serene beauty.
